Top 10 Things I Love About The Spring!

10.  Azealas- Living in Wilmington, NC for several years made me love when Spring Time would come around. The azealas would bloom created an aray of colors and would seem to brighten the whole city for this time of the year.

9. NHL Playoffs- Some of you may know this, and some now, but I love hockey and mainly The Carolina Hurricanes. Now the reason this is so high in my list is because your team will not always make into the playoffs. The Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup in 2006 and have not been back to the playoffs since. I have a feeling they will get in this year.

8. My Birthday- Without fail, every year my birthday always occurs during The Spring. Who doesn’t love their birthday? A time to celebrate the “X” number of years you’ve survived this earth. You get to eat cake and ice cream and I get to open presents. It’s Awesome!

7. Everything Turns Green- The grass is no longer brown, the trees are no longer bare. It actually looks like life has been restored.

6. Cool Nights- It’s great to feel the cool air come in your windows at night time during The Spring. A refeshing cool breathe that helps calm you from the hectic day you had. Being able to have the windows open at night sure beats have the AC Unit running.

5. Warm Days- There is nothing like riding down the road with the tunes blasting and the windows down in The Spring Time. You can now start to schedule times to go play outside in the beautiful weather. Time for Ultimate Frisbee, Golf, Picnics, and running around with the sun on your face.

4. Yard Sales- It’s time for Spring Cleaning and getting rid of all the junk you don’t need anymore. And its time for others to search for those little treasures that some consider to be junk. There are bargins to be made and very early Saturday Mornings to be had.

3. City and Town Festivals- Many cities and towns will run their annual events to promote their town and local businesses. For example in the month of May, Apex NC has their annual Peak Festival. Cary NC has their annual Spring Daze and Wilmington NC has The Azaela Festival. These are great ways to get outside, enjoy local vendors and also local entertainment. Check you city for event days and times.

2. Flip-Flops- It is finally the time where you can wear flip-flops and not look like a moron because its 25 degrees outside. These have to be my favorite article of clothing. They are easy to put on, easy to take off and they help keep you cool while you’re out and about.

1. My Anniversary- And my most favorite thing about Spring is my anniversary. This May 5th, my wife and I will have been married for two years and we have loved every second of it. I love celebrating this event and this year I am taking my wife to Rey’s Restaruant in Cary NC. A very nice elegant meal for the love of my life. Ok I know this last one was probably very “gag me” esque, but what can I say, I love my wife and I can’t wait to celebrate this day for every year to come.
